Dental Fillings

Dental fillings are essential to your dental health as well as your smile aesthetic. You need and deserve composite fillings that look similar to regular teeth. If you know you have a cavity, suspect you have a cavity or would like a silver filling removed in favor of a composite filling, reach out to us today at (615) 662-2191 to schedule an appointment. Our dental filling procedure is nowhere near as painful as most patients initially assume. Though there is the potential for a little bit of discomfort, it will be minimal.

We will take x-rays of your teeth to determine if cavities are positioned between your teeth in areas we cannot see with a regular visual examination. The decayed portion of the tooth with the cavity is removed with a dental drill. The decay, bacteria and other particles will be cleaned out of the affected area. A composite filling is then added to your drilled tooth to resemble an actual tooth. Composite fillings are also favorable as they function just like regular teeth. If you feel slight discomfort after your cavity is filled, do not panic. Pain relief medication and avoiding foods that are excessively hard or high/low in temperature will help minimize your discomfort after the filling.
